Cultivation in polypropylene troughs is appropriate for crops cultivated in wide rows or any high-volume root zone demanding crop such as cut flowers, lettuce, basil, strawberries and blueberries. This cultivation method which includes the substrates, the trough and the drainage system has been developed and improved over years by Tuff and Mapal. Mapal’s PP trough features high mechanical stability and can be used for many years in a greenhouse, or in an open field.
